Good-Bye and Welcome
Recently we added a new friend to our class! Her name is Jasmine Tucker and she just moved to the area with her mom. We are so happy to have her in our class! We also said good-bye to a great friend last week. Lydia DeFrance and her family had to make the tough decision to stay home and learn for the rest of this school year. She will be greatly missed but hopefully we will see her back at Lincoln in the future!

Indoor Shoes
Please make sure your child has indoor shoes everyday for school. We don't like to wear our wet boots into the classroom since we sit on the floor quite a bit and we don't want the floor to be wet.

Folders and Backpacks
Please remember to check/clean out your child's folder EVERYDAY!!! It is not easy for me to see if there is anything you are sending in or back when the folder still has all of the papers that were supposed to stay at home in it. It also makes it difficult for them to get the new papers in at the end of the day and keep things organized! Also, because they need to bring their computers and folders everyday and these take up a lot of room (along with shoes, snow pants, and other winter gear, please take all unnecessary things out of the backpacks so that your child can more easily pack things up at the end of the day. Thank you so much!

Computer Charging at Home
Please remember to charge your child's computer EVERY NIGHT at home, even if you don't think it needs it! Some days we are on them in school more than others so we need to make sure they are charged. Right now I don't have any extra charging cords in the classroom so please help your child be able to complete their work in class by making sure their computer comes to school fully charged. You can help make it part of their routine at night by plugging it in before they go to bed and in the morning by putting it in their backpack before they leave for school. Thank you so much!!!

100th Day

Please remember to send in your child's 100th day of school project on Monday (or anytime this week if you don't have time this weekend). We will be displaying them in the hallway for the week and sending them back home on Friday! We will have a 100th day celebration on Friday where we will practice counting to 100, recognizing numbers to 100, and writing to 100! If you are on the list for volunteers for this party, I will be sending you an email. Also, if you received a 100th day snack note, please send those items in by Tuesday so I can make sure we have enough of everything for Friday!

Valentine's Day

We will be celebrating Valentine's Day with some fun centers on Monday, February 14th. You do not need to send anything in with your child. We will be focusing on having fun and showing love to each other. If you are on the volunteer list for this party, I will be sending you an email. Thanks so much!

Rainbow Sight Words
In a previous post I mentioned our Rainbow Sight Word practice that we will begin to help everyone learn their high-frequency words. This has taken a little longer to get started than I had planned but we are all set and will start THIS WEEK! Last week I sent home a list of all the words. PLEASE help your child practice these at home. To not be overwhelming, work on one color list at a time. When your child can read them all, they will bring home a pack of Skittles to celebrate their accomplishment!
